Top 10 Reasons Why Your Product Descriptions Suck, and How to Fix Them

1. They're boring. Let's face it, if your product descriptions are putting people to sleep, you're not going to make many sales. Spice them up a tad. Don't overdo it, though, first off, product descriptions have to be functional.

2. They're too technical. Unless you're selling to a highly technical audience, avoid using industry jargon and technical terms. Keep it simple and easy to understand.

3. They're too short. A one-sentence product description is not going to cut it. Give people the information they need to make an informed decision.

4. They're too long. On the flip side, don't write a novel. Keep your descriptions concise and to the point.

5. They're not specific enough. Vague descriptions like "It's a great product" don't give people any real information. Be specific about what your product does and how it can benefit them.

6. They're not SEO-friendly. Make sure your product descriptions include relevant keywords so they show up in search results.

7. They're not unique. Don't copy and paste product descriptions from the manufacturer's website. Make them your own and stand out from the competition.

8. They're not visually appealing. Use images and videos to complement your product descriptions and make them more engaging.

9. They're not action-oriented. Encourage people to buy your product by including calls to action in your descriptions.

10. They're not tested. Before you publish your product descriptions, have a few people read them and give you feedback. See what works and what doesn't.
